Bed Bugs - 9/17/2021

September 17, 2021
For many years, our standard lease contract has included a bed bug addendum. The prevalence of these parasites has become an epidemic across the United States. A common misconception is that bed bugs are associated with poor hygiene and/or poor housekeeping. The truth is that bed bugs do not discriminate and have been found in some of the most expensive hotels and upscale homes in the nation. The bed bug addendum we utilize informs renters about these parasites and how to avoid them, identify them, prevent encounters, and how to eradicate them if discovered. Although we manage hundreds of rental properties, to date, we have experienced relatively few properties where bed bugs were reported and subsequently exterminated.
